Confession Time. Before I moved to the prairies and worked in the oil patch I never really knew how to work a ratchet strap properly. You might say, but Tim they are so simple a child can use them. Well that might be true however I just hadn’t used them much before. Now I use them on literally a daily basis.

As I have mentioned before ratchet straps to me are like Tupperware to my wife, you can never have enough of them, and can’t find the right one when you need it.

The first couple of years in business for myself, I used a bunch of straps I got at the dollar store for about three bucks a pop. I would constantly cuss at them, they would break under strain (not an ideal design for a product meant to be under strain). And would fade and deteriorate quickly under the sun.

So my journey to replace that dollar store junk with something more reliable and less likely to get me a fine when hauling garbage to the landfill began. I was walking through my favorite Costco and the colors yellow and black caught my eye. Cat brand ratchet straps my third favorite yellow and black tool brand, behind Dewalt and Stanley.

I started using them and fell in love. They are 15 feet long, so long enough they will cover just about anything. 1.5 inches wide so strong enough they won’t tear but not too thick they are a pain in the butt to work with. And the painted double hooks have incredible holding power.

So if you are looking at getting some really good ratchet straps that won’t break the bank and give you peace of mind while driving down the interstate securing a load. Then check out the cat ratchet straps over at amazon today.
