In my handyman business for a long time I just wore whatever I would normally wear around the yard, which meant mostly jogging pants with holes in them or paint on them. Eventually I realized that a business should have at least a somewhat professional appearance so I went looking for something better.

I wanted something durable, comfortable, looks professional and had lots of pockets. I wasn’t sure how I would feel working all day with a belt on as it had been a few years since I had to do that. But since I had recently lost a bunch of weight I figured I could give it a shot.

I started looking at work supply clothing stores and couldn’t believe how much a standard pair of work pants were, around over in some cases over $100 Canadian. Plus they didn’t have any extra pockets.

I wasn’t sure if it would be something i would stick with so I thought why not try some import brand on Amazon, the double benefit of being easily returned and less expensive, so I ordered in a couple of different brands and colors and settled on this brand here. They came in sizes 29 – 42 and some other brands even come bigger. They were comfortable and bonus they had tons of pockets to carry all my stuff.

All that was left was to find a belt that didn’t bother me too much. I really don’t like a thick or heavy belt buckle and I wanted something that was basically fabric so it would flex just like the pants. I ended up trying a couple different types, one that was similar to a seat belt and settled on the traditional army style double D buckle. Once you get the hang of them they are simple to adjust and as lightweight as a belt can be.
