Almost all of my best recommendations come from taking a chance on a new product, and then experimenting around my house or property. Expanding Foam for Fence Posts is no exception.
This is a product that came out after my time at the hardware store. It was recommended to me by a building supply guy who did a fence quote for me. I had never heard of it, and honestly it seemed too good to be true. No mixing concrete. No hauling heavy bags. No needing water and sand. No needing to wait 24 hours for the concrete to cure. No need to put up support material. Ready to hang boards from in ten minutes. And all for roughly the same price as concrete with almost no work. Too good to be true for sure. Except that is exactly the case, it’s all true, and is that good of a product.
My wife and I were ready to build a fence around our back yard to keep our doggies in. So we decided to try this Fast 2K Expanding post foam as a test. If it worked well, it could change the way I set posts in my business. For the record, from the time we marked out 17 post holes, augered them with a gas auger, put the posts in the ground and had them all set in place and firm was less than three hours. I would have just been getting ready to mix the first bags of cement at that time. Also its fast enough that you don’t even need bracing especially if you have a second person. You can hold it in place for less than five minutes as it firms up with a level on it and you are done.
It has been over a year in the ground for my fence, including on a gate post that is rather heavy and the Fast 2K Foam hasn’t shown any signs of letting me down.
